Is Video Part of Your Content Marketing Strategy?

5Content marketing is defined as “a strategic marketing approach focused on creating and distributing valuable, relevant, and consistent content to attract and retain a clearly-defined audience — and, ultimately, to drive profitable customer action”.*  More and more companies are changing the emphasis of their marketing communication strategy away from printed words alone in favor of increased video content, because there is no more effective way to engage potential clients than through video.

Video content can be rapidly developed in-house or can be skillfully crafted with professional assistance. Either way it is the perfect communications medium for any business large or small. Whether your sharing promotional content, training, providing customer service, presenting press releases or serving up bits of entertainment, video offers an immediate experience jam packed with much more information and served in a shorter period of time than a simple blog post.

Video triggers an emotional response after which viewers are more likely to share the experience with others.  It has been documented that viewers retain more information through video than through printed words. Viewing video means your web visitor spends more time on your website allowing for more brand exposure and the potential to earn revenue through video ads and on-page advertising.

The only reason this revolution has not happened before now is because the technology did not exist or was too rudimentary to be useful. Now video combined with high speed Internet access on mobile and desktop devices, as well a smartphone and gaming units it is viable; and production costs are within the reach of virtually every business. This is not just a curiosity or passing fad. The time is now to figure out how you are going to incorporate video into your enterprise’s contact marketing strategy.
