Songs from Broadway
A client hired me to record a performance called “Songs of Broadway” which he was presenting at a Chicago senior community. His experiment was to do a collection of popular songs which he sang a Capella and he wanted to be able to review how it came across and also have some video to use as demos for potential future gigs.
This video is a compilation of excerpts from each song to be used as a demo.
In “Meeskite” I noticed that the song had an “old-timey” quality which in fact reminded me of clips I had seen from the early 1900’s of New York the Yiddish Theater. So I set out to make a vintage version edited to look more like an early 1950’s TV show. I chose a grainy black & white filter and modified the sound to be more reminiscent of a large hall adding some echo. I also inserted the video into a still shot of a vintage tv set to add to the mood. Anyway this is an example of how your video can be modified to attain certain objectives. You don’t necessarily have to stay with what was originally shot or captured by the camera. We can adjust the sound, modify lighting and add effects and filters to make your video look better or in this case worse.
