Serious Times Music Video Production

“Serious Times” is a reggae music video production with vocalist/musician Robert Burchell for New Vision One Records in Chicago distributed by VPAL music.

The video is a compilation that began with a rooftop shoot on Chicago’s northside.

First I got the idea of opening this like a breaking news story using SERIOUS TIMES as the title of the news report.

The first images indicate turmoil and civil disruption that is often a part of our day-to-day world news experience.

I then edited in a number of stock photos and video clips to further illustrate the meaning of the song.

The constant thread throughout is video of Robert appealing to “Jah” for divine intervention with heavenly clouds above.

It is also important to establish the performer for the purpose of promoting and showcasing the artist himself.

This music video is intended to be evocative and expressive in order to engage the listener in the lyrics.

I also created the cover art used to promote the CD and EP online.

You can see that I extracted a piece of the opening segment and used that as a background for a promo portrait of Robert Burchell then added the necessary logos.
